I don’t usually do reviews but wow! This place is great. In addition to the wonderful and beautifully prepared food, the folks working here seem to enjoy being here. It affects the mood and makes this a relaxing and happy place to be. I’m taking a bunch of brownies with me when I go!
This is actually the best catfish I've ever had but it's not like what I'm used to in the south with cornmeal. It was had a great crust similar to what you might find on a wienerschnitzel. It was excellent. The waitress was great. The other sides were fine. My wife had a salmon with cranberry chutney on it and it was excellent as well. I highly recommend this place
While traveling down I-81 near Roanoke, we decided to have lunch at Hollywood's Restaurant. They had great reviews on both Google & TripAdvisor. I try to avoid the chain restaurants and patronize the local places. Our entrées were Catfish Matrimony, Cajun Meatloaf & Chicken Salad with a side salad & fruit. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. Our lovely server was Braelyn. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Hollywood's....Highly recommend you give them a try!
Hollywood’s is definitely a local gem! We went here on a Saturday night for dinner and despite our large party of six, we were seated relatively quickly! Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious. The pork ribeye was wonderfully tender and had a nice flavor, the meat fell off the ribs, and the meatloaf was scrumptious. We also got the fried tomatoes and oysters which too were great! If you’re in the area, Hollywood’s is a must try! Especially, the desserts, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.
For our last night of our stay in Roanoke we wanted to have a special dinner at a local restaurant. I am really glad we found Hollywood's. Debbie, our waitress was fantastic. Great stories and excellent service. I had the Catfish Matrimony, my wife had the Club, and the rest had the half rack of ribs, filet and meatloaf sandwich. The portions were huge. The Catfish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The half rack of ribs was a large portion of very meaty, tasty and tender ribs. The meatloaf sandwich had enough meatloaf for another meal. The filet was great and my wife loved her club sandwich. We were all so full, we had to take dessert to go. The carrot cake cake was great. Thank you again Debbie, we had a great farewell dinner.
This place came highly recommended by the staff at our hotel, and now I understand why! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and almost homey the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, attentive without being overbearing, and made us feel right at home. I ordered the Route 11 Burger, and it was fantastic. It tasted like a truly fresh burger, with juicy, well-seasoned beef, and the bun was absolutely perfect soft, fluffy, and clearly made fresh. My husband ordered the daily special, the Drunken Goat Burger, and really enjoyed it. He said it had a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the savory elements. He also got the White Bean Chicken Chili on the side, which he loved rich in flavor with just the right amount of seasoning. Before leaving, we couldn’t resist getting a few treats to take with us. We picked up three brownies, and they were incredible dense, fudgy, and a hit with our kids. Hollywood’s is the kind of restaurant you look forward to returning to. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit if you’re in the area.
The salmon wasn't the prettiest but tasted great. Carrot cake was excellent. Great service, super friendly and attentive.
Very clean, 90s era family restaurant. Prompt, professional and friendly servers with happy personalities. Mouth watering menu with a large variety of foods. Ribeye steaks, Reuben sandwiches, soups & chili, pimento burgers, BBQ quesadilla, cheese fries, fried green tomatoes, coconut shrimp / coconut chicken, oysters, crab cakes, fresh baked breads and super brownies and cakes. For lunch today we had salads and Hollywood's are some of the very best salads in the Roanoke Valley. I had their popular Grilled Salmon Salad which is a California Cobb salad with a large portion of warm grilled salmon. Amazing with homemade creamy ranch dressing. I only got off one photo before my instincts to dig in took over! Reasonable prices for excellent food. In NW Roanoke near Hollins College, check it out. Hollywood, solid 5 stars.
A cute mom and pop restaurant. Service was great. I had the crab cakes, which though good, if you've lived on the east coast you won't be impressed. Fries were great, vegetables were a little overcooked. Also tried their potato soup which was probably the highlight for me. I got a few of their brownies for the road and those were absolutely delicious.
Excellent experience, waited staff is top-tier, service was VERY swift and food quality was very good. Came because of all the positive reviews and so glad I did. As a ranch dressing snob this is top tier ranch 🤣🤘🏽. Will be back when in the area!
